Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR) are an industry standard report accepted by local authorities for licensing purposes, insurance and mortgage companies mortgage companies and health and safety requirements.

ESI can provide Electrical Installation Condition Report as required by landlords and employers to prove compliance with all the required standards.

All our work is carried out by qualified electricians, and ESI are registered to provide NICEIC Periodic Inspection Reports.

These Electrical Inspection Certificates are sometimes referred to by different names such as:

  • Fixed Wiring Test Report
  • Fixed Wiring Certificate
  • Periodic Inspection Report
  • Electrical Inspection Report

All electrical installation work in the UK is carried out to BS 7671 the Requirements for Electrical Installations. The NICEIC Periodic Inspection Reports compliance with these regulations.

Our engineers are City and Guilds Qualified Electricians, confident and competent in the inspection and testing of all electrical installations, from Caravan Sites to Industrial Premises.

What are the legal requirements for Electrical Inspections?

The legal requirements are as follows:

BS7671:2008 Requirements for Electrical Installations (17th Edition) require that: “every new installation and alteration or extension to an existing installation to be inspected and tested before being put into service. It is also recommended that all fixed wiring installations be tested for safety periodically”.

The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 state:

“As may be necessary to prevent danger, all systems shall be maintained so as to prevent, so far as is reasonably practicable, such danger”. (Regulation 4 (2))

“ ‘System’ means an electrical system in which all the electrical equipment is, or may be, electrically connected to a common source of electrical energy and includes such source and such equipment”. (Regulation 2 (1))c

“Electrical equipment includes anything used, intended to be used or installed for use, to generate, provide, transmit, transform, rectify, convert, conduct, distribute, control, store, measure or use electrical energy”. (Regulation 2 (1))

All ESI Electrical Safety Inspections engineers and management can provide advice on your installation, along with a Quotation to carry out your electrical inspection and any remedial works where necessary.
